Launch of the European Network for Rural Development

The 'European Network for Rural Development' was launched by the European Commission at the Conference on Rural Development, held in Cyprus on 16-17 October 2008. The Network should help to strengthen the implementation of Pillar 2 of the CAP and deepen debate across the board as it draws together national networks and will convene conferences and expert groups. The Network is composed of a number of Committees and bodies. IEEP recently wrote a Briefing for the UK Land Use Policy Group to explain how the Network will operate and who is involved. It can be downloaded on the right.
