The 'European Network for Rural Development' was launched by the European Commission at the Conference on Rural Development, held in Cyprus on 16-17 October 2008. The Network should help to strengthen the implementation of Pillar 2 of the CAP and deepen debate across the board as it draws together national networks and will convene conferences and expert groups. The Network is composed of a number of Committees and bodies. IEEP recently wrote a Briefing for the UK Land Use Policy Group to explain how the Network will operate and who is involved.
