COPA-COGECA published a declaration entitled ‘Visions for the Future of Agricultural Policy in Europe’ in September 2008. Eight objectives are presented as the basis for building consensus on funding requirements from 2013. These include the need to increase productivity and competitiveness, to maintain a diversity of high quality food, and to ensure a fair standard of living for agricultural producers. A number of environmental objectives are also included, such as encouraging land management practices which promote the conservation of biodiversity and habitats.
