To bring about food that is healthier for people and the planet, CAP needs to become a “Sustainable Food Policy” by making the two Pillars equal – 50% of subsidies each. Then Pillar 2 could become more than “Environmental Stewardship” and include incentives to reduce Carbon Emissions (10%), produce Healthier Food (10%), improve Labour Conditions (10%), improve Animal Welfare (10%) and Environmental Stewardship (remaining 10%).
