In this publication the Federation of Swedish Farmers (LRF) on the future of agricultural policy in Europe is presented. The LRF argue that a future CAP should be based on the following principles:

• A legitimate sustainable policy
• A common policy within the EU, even in the future
• A budget to meet future demands
• More market orientation, but in step with the rest of the world
• Clear and predictable rules
• A policy to stimulate active use of land
• A decoupled aid which over time should be leveled out between farmers and EU Member States
• A broad policy supporting the development of farming enterprises
• A future CAP with a clear and coordinated structure

The document will form the basis of discussion at an LRF conference to be held today (25 November).
